Image Retrieval by Colour

Screenshot: Image Retrieval by Colour

This system was developed as part of the Multimedia Information Systems module for my degree at the University of Surrey. It was developed with three fellow students.

The academic protype automatically analyses submitted images and creates metadata describing their colour content. This is stored in discretised bins for future searches.

Users can query the image library by one, two or three colours, with a colour percentage for each. Results are returned in order of relevance to the user query.

The prototype system is available to view at experiment.beseku.com/mis/. This project achieved a first class mark (70% plus) when submitted.
